Helping Community: Organize a Fundraiser
This information was originally written to help with Hurrican Katrina relief, but it is applicable for any fundraiser.
Organize
Donate
As an
artist, you can contribute in any of the following ways:
-
Hold
an outright sale of artwork.
-
Organize
a live auction.
-
Organize
a silent auction.
-
Invite
friends to an art movie. Select films about artists from Netflix or
your local video store and charge $10 to view them at a watch party.
I suggest Camille Claudel, The Moderns, A Wolf at the Door,
Basquiat, I Shot Andy Warhol, How to Draw a Bunny, Artemesia, Kahlo, Pollock.
Of course there are so many more!
-
Put a
donation box out at your opening reception.
-
Add
donation links to your Web site or in all of your emails.
-
Combine
any or all of the above.
Here
are seven tools to help you. Take what you need!
Please note:
These were put together in rapid response to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Please let
me know if something is missing or doesn't seem right.
